Monica Callahan

Monica Callahan is a certified professional dog trainer and a Board of Director for Alliance of Therapy Dogs. Monica has been registered with four therapy dogs since 2011. Monica has experience in various therapy dog settings including school reading programs, college campus visits, crisis response scenarios, first responder decompression, and more. As a licensed Family Paws presenter, she enjoys teaching families and kids about appropriate dog greetings and safety. Monica is registered with Orio, Disco, and Hip Hop.
Zachary Callahan

Zac Callahan is a current firefighter for Charleston Fire Department with a masters in Psychology. He is an Army Combat Medic veteran with two tours overseas. He was previously a police officer for seven years. Zac has many years experience working with first responders and crisis response. He is currently registered with Orio.
Therapy Dog
Orio
Orio was born 9/24/18. She comes from very accomplished parents, including her father who was AKC’s Therapy Dog of the Year in 2020. Orio adores children and loves doing visits where she can meet them. She is a very affectionate girl and loves to be pet and scratched. She also enjoys showing off her fun tricks, like stop, drop, and roll! Orio has experience in school reading programs, college campus visits, fire safety programs, and first responder decompression. Orio is a current member of the MYR Airport P.E.T.S. therapy dog program.
Therapy Dog Disco
Disco was born on 4/8/2018. She is a Windsprite, which is a sighthound. Disco is a quieter girl who is very gentle. She loves to be pet behind the ears and will stand there quietly as long as you are willing to pet her. She enjoys her visits to the airport and enjoys spending one on one time with guests and employees. Disco would be a great addition to a nursing home or assisted living facility.
Therapy Dog Hip Hop
Hip Hop was born on 11/24/2021. He is a Windsprite and Disco’s son. Hip Hop is a silly young boy who is very curious. He loves to bump hands to make sure everyone is petting him behind the ears. He looks forward to his airport visits and would do well in a variety of different therapy dog settings.
